From loose curls, ringlets, afros and more, learning about your hair is a time consuming, frustrating catastrophe. Oh, I know all about it! That one piece that’s always out of place or that one frizzy curl. Taking it out of a bun to realize that that your hair is standing up. Wanting to cut it all off for the sake of extra thirty minutes of sleep, but then you come to realize how if defines you. Not even the struggle, the time, or those frizzy pieces of hair can keep you from loving your hair. There are so many curly hair types, that it’s hard to lock down one routine for everyone. Now, I’m no expert but, i’m here to state some of the mistakes and help out using my curly girl method. Just trying to help a sister out. 😉

Brushes are a curly hair’s worst enemy and we aren’t talking about the ones that make your edges slay. We all dream that brushing through out hair will leave our curls untangled and silky smooth.
Well that dream is crushed.
Why don’t you imagine your hair three times it’s size and frizz everywhere. Oh my bad, you’ve probably experienced it by now. You poor soul. I’m glad you made it out of that alive. Try replacing your brush with a wide tooth comb or use finger de-tangling. If you haven’t… you might at well take a break from this post and head to the store right now.
Wearing it Up Often
There’s nothing wrong with taking a break from your amazing hair, but i’m afraid that taking too long of a break could lead to problems. Constantly wearing your hair in ponytails and buns could straighten your top curls. Leaving you with straighter hair at the top of your head. The best way to fix this issue is to reduce the amount of times you put your hair up. Even if it is the simplest, and easiest way to get your hair away from your face. When sleeping opt for a curly haired “pineapple” on top of your head. It’s a great way to keep your curls intact and to avoid ruining your top layer of curls.
Wrong Hair Ties
You might be wondering, how you can use the wrong hair ties. Some might think this is opinionated… but we all know the struggle of the hair crease. You just washed your hair and you’re putting it up in a bun so that you can sleep… but you wake up in the morning to the dreaded hair crease ruining your good hair day. 🙁 The hair ties that I use are L. Erickson Hair Ties. I have been using them for up to two years and they are truly amazing. Surprise surprise… they don’t give you a hair crease! They come in all sorts of colors that you can pick from and are more stylish than a normal hair tie. These stretch to great lengths, fitting even the thickest of hair. I wouldn’t recommend them if I didn’t love them.
You can find the L. Erickson Hair Ties <- Here!
I hope they change your hair routine for the better, as they did mine.
